L'Oreal Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick in Blaze of Red

Just a quick blog post on my current favorite red lipstick which I nonchalantly picked up at Landmark last December. The Color Riche Moist Matte line has a creamy texture that dries down to a matte (non-drying) finish. The shades are vibrant and pigmented, can last 1-2 hours, and leaves a gorgeous stain after. I've blogged about my other lipstick acquisition, Berry Allure, here

Blaze of Red is a dull, deep red that will complement most skin tones. I should know, because I've been wearing this when I was fairer in December, til now where I've tanned quite a bit from my 3 previous beach trips.

Rave: Venus & Mars Naturals Mint Espresso Soap

I haven't been in love with soap since I tried V&M's Mint Espresso. I first purchased one last November when I just happened to pass by their kiosk in SM North Edsa. I'm a hoarder by nature and I'm always drawn to natural soaps with coffee, peppermint, and/or clay, and because I have so many soaps waiting in the wing I only got to actually use this last January.

Mint Espresso is especially formulated for people who want to detoxify, remove impurities and unnecessary odor and toxins from the skin without compromising moisture and hydration. This bar may also be used as a shaving soap as it rids the skin from unwanted ingrown hairs, nicks and bumps.
Ingredients: Emu Oil, Goat's Milk, Olive Oil, Beeswax, Tea Tree Essential Oil, Coffee Beans, Green Tea, Papain, Citrus Oils, Peppermint, Geranium
Price: Php 265/135g

Unboxing: Special Edition Eye of Horus Glamourbox

For as long as I can remember, a lot of beauty enthusiasts have been clamoring for a Special Edition Eye of Horus Glamourbox. Eye of Horus is an exclusive Glamourbox brand and is most known for their eye makeup offerings that are deemed long lasting, smudge-proof, skin and eye-friendly, plus their pencils come in vivid colors.

With the wait now over, it's time to do an unboxing! Each Special Edition box is sold at Php 695 + shipping, let's now take a look at what's inside this limited edition beauty box:

Dubbed as the #EyeLoveItGlamourbox, it came in a smaller (and somewhat lighter) brown box with the Glamourbox label printed in gold. It's classier, yes, but long-time subscribers might miss the usual white + salmon color combi. Upon opening, the contents are wrapped in pretty EOH black paper.

Glam Up with Max Factor

How timely that I am writing about getting all dolled up on Hearts Day! This lovely stash [red] from Max Factor was sent to me last month and I do apologize for the very late post. It would have been appropo for V-day but I'm only getting around to testing/using them now.

Alright, first things first. I'm not huge on celebrating V-day on the 14th because there is just too much traffic! I do hope though that everyone else who decided to go out today is having a grand time with the ones they love the most :)

Anyway as you might have noticed in Max Factor's current campaign and store displays, the iconic Marilyn Monroe is once again the brand's glamorous ambassador. In my opinion, no one can quite carry a bold red like Ms. Marilyn.

For the Beach Bunny: Skincare & Makeup Travel Essentials

I am writing this from my Grandma's lovely ancestral home in the province of Agusan del Norte. I'll be spending the next couple of days here, and hopefully get a tan as a bonus when I head to the beach on Thursday. I do have some more beach trips in the next weeks -- I am obviously hellbent on getting a more sun-kissed complexion this year :P

Anyway, let me share my current travel essentials. I always buy multiples of everything because I don't want to have to pack and unpack skin care and makeup -- it gets so tiring when you do it often. You know how it is when you're rushing in the morning getting ready for your flight, and then you still have to pack the actual products you're using? It's such a hassle! So I make sure if I really like a product/brand, I have multiples of them stashed in my closet and luggage for impromptu trips.

Let's start with makeup:

Hurraw! Lip Balm in Peppermint - Always a kikay kit staple. A non-glossy balm that adequately moisturizes lips with a mentholated kick.
Ellana Pressed Mineral Foundation in Chai Tea Latte - The best powder foundation out there for sensitive complexions. Surprisingly, this shade works even on my tan skin tone. Use a kabuki brush for a flawless, even coverage.
Ellana Mineral Blush in Kitten/Peach Passion - Hands-down my favorite blush! Kitten gives me a nice natural flush while Peach Passion when applied on tan skin leaves skin illuminated and sun-kissed. Both have an overspray of teeny gold shimmer.

Our Nivea Adventure in Balesin: Day 1

How do you start writing about one of the most beautiful places in the Philippines? Last week, I was part of a group that was flown to Balesin to experience Nivea's new "Come Closer" campaign. I have heard of Balesin and always dreamt of going there, so am very grateful to Nivea for this opportunity. So much so that Krissy and I shrieked when I found out that I was invited! January was sure off to a great start!

My call time was 11am and I was to board the chartered 20-seater plane. The first time I rode a small plane was during the ARC Boracay trip where we had to shoot a video for an Italian restaurant, and this was back in 2012 maybe. I am used to riding bigger planes so this smaller one sort of scared me, but I'm glad that the 20-minute plane ride was comfy and the landing was commendable.

Upon alighting the chartered plane, I was greeted by the warm sunshine, the strong gust of winds, and freshly-squeezed buco juice all courtesy of Nivea. After some quick introductions and an overview of the whole island, we were led to our villas in Mykonos Village where we were given an hour to nest and get settled. Mykonos is gorgeous and the whitewashed walls, blue windows and doors are unmistakably Nivea.

Review: L'Oreal Mat Magique All-in-One Matte Transformation Powder

Hello guys! This is Arnie of Raid My Closet, taking over a little space at Kira's pretty beauty blog :) For the first time in 3 years of blogging, I'm finally posting something about makeup! I knew I can’t miss this chance and let down a good friend! Thank you for the trust, Kira!

L'Oreal Paris recently released yet another great addition to their makeup line - the Mat Magique Transforming Powder. This matte foundation promises the magic of 12-hour shine-free and flawless beauty. When product teasers came out during the first few days of January, I felt really intrigued and excited. The concept exactly fits my crazy schedule -- no need for frequent retouches in between meetings! Check out how Mat Magique fared when I tested its 12-hour claim:

Rave: Pantene 3-Minute Miracle Total Damage Care Conditioner

Up until today, my hair has been a little coarse and stiff due to overexposure to chlorine and saltwater. If you've been following me on Instagram, you'd know that I (along with other notable bloggers) was sent to Balesin for a press junket. Of course, I spent most of the 2nd day submerged in water -- my hair suffered, and looked majorly dry and frizzy.

Enter the new Pantene 3-Minute Miracle Total Damage Care Conditioner (Php 159). It promises to smoothen 3 months of damage by infusing hair with 80% more with a conditioning ingredient called cationic polymer. This cationic polymer is positively charged to neutralize damaged portions of hair, and forms a shield to further protect hair from future damage.
