Review: Be Organic Bath & Body Argan Oil Shampoo and Face Wash

I always love discovering and trying new organic brands, more so if they're locally made. When I had a meeting with Be Organic owners Ann and Peter, I was very much interested in how they started the company. Anne shares, her husband Peter suffered from acne and they even brought him to a known dermatology clinic and yet it did not alleviate his condition. Furthermore, her daughter has very sensitive skin. They'd always try other popular international baby-friendly brands such as Aveeno and J&J yet her rashes still persisted.

That's when she decided to create her own line of personal care products derived only from natural sources. Thus, Be Organic Bath & Body was born. Their bestsellers include the the Argan Oil line, for obvious reasons, since argan oil is touted as liquid gold and offers a lot of skin benefits.

Argan Oil Shampoo
Our Premium Sulfate-free Shampoo is a blend of rich natural ingredients and the amazing miracle oil, Argan. This gentle formula cleanses the hair while nourishing it with Argan Oil, Silk Protein, Panthenol and Nutrients.
Price: Php 350
I've been using the Argan Oil Shampoo for weeks. It has a low foaming SLS-free formula which means you may have to use more than the usual to create a good lather. Once I rinsed it off though, I noticed that my hair was immediately softened -- more than my Pureology shampoo. I was really impressed! The shampoo is amber-colored and has a refreshing lavender scent -- with emphasis on refreshing because I never liked lavender as is before.

I've tried the Argan Oil Conditioner last year but was not so impressed. In all honestly no matter how I try to be "green", my hair still needs silicones in order to be soft and frizz-free. So, I am passing on this but I highly recommend the shampoo if you are looking for a natural and gentle alternative to your daily shampoo. Aside from it being SLS-free, I was also told that it does not contain sodium chloride which means it's safe to use on colored hair.

Edit: I did notice that after two weeks of usage my hair felt more dry. I switched back to my previous natural shampoo and its texture went back to its normal, soft state.

Argan Oil Face Wash
A gentle sulfate-free cleanser that removes dirt, excess oil, make up and other impurities without drying it to leave skin fresh, smooth and radiant. Formulated with Argan oil, Hyaluronic acid and Aloe to protect, moisturize and soothe. Pores appear smaller, skin looks toned and younger looking
Price: Php 295
The face wash is not only infused with argan oil, but contains rose hip oil, and tamarind seed oil as well. It comes in a convenient pump container and dispenses the proper amount each time. I use just two pumps of foam to wash my face. It easily removes excess oils around my T-zone, rinses clean with water, and leaves my skin soft and smooth. It also has the signature lavender scent that is refreshing and not overwhelming. I'd say this is perfect for combi-oil sensitive skin because it really removes the oils and moisturizes at the same time.

A sticker with the manufacturing date and best before date is on each product, but I noticed that not all stores that carry Be Organic has this. Purchases at Sesou, for example, don't have this sticker.

Have you tried the Be Organic Argan Oil line? Do let me know what you think about them!

  24. I wish argan products would list their argan oil % so I can figure out which ones are really worth it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. What bothers me more is how other brands (local or international) advertise their argan oil as 100% or pure. Then when you check the ingredients list, it contains dimethicones! It really bugs me, and then people buy it pa -_-
