How to replace your Majolica Majorca Pressed Pore Cover refill

My Majolica Majorca Pressed Pore Cover has hit pan. I was looking at it today and initially had no idea how to replace the powder. Usual compacts have a teeny tiny hole on the bottom where you can insert a pin to remove the pan. I started tinkering with it -- even tried using a knife to pry it open -- and I discovered how to remove it all by accident!

Let me share it with you below:

A dose of emerald green with ANNY

Summer calls for bright and flirty nail colors, and I'm glad that the folks over at ANNY sent me this gorgeous nail polish called "Crazy Shot." I used it this weekend at our Tagaytay getaway and was impressed with its long-wearing and quick-dry formula.

Crazy Shot is a very flattering emerald green color that would suit both fair and darker skin tones. It's exclusively available at Make Up Factory.

What's your nail color of choice this summer?

India Travelogue: Jaipur (Day 1)

So now we are nearing the tail end of my India trip. After a quick breakfast at the hotel, we visit the Fatehpur Sikri Palace Complex which was enroute to Jaipur.

Built during the second half of the 16th century by the Emperor Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri (the City of Victory) was the capital of the Mughal Empire for only some 10 years. The complex of monuments and temples, all in a uniform architectural style, includes one of the largest mosques in India, the Jama Masjid.

Still loving my ombre 'do + my hair care essentials

Is ombre hair still in style? I honestly haven't been to a salon since my digiperm back in November 2012 and I haven't had my hair color retouched since my JuRo visit last September. My hair is longer now (and the heat is getting to me), but my ombre color is still intact.

Just wanted to show you how my hair looks like now. Last September, I specifically told Rose (the other half of JuRo Salon) that I wanted a low maintenance ombre color that would grow out naturally. I wasn't a fan of the half dark and half blonde ombre styles (with the obvious demarcation line), I just wanted something low-key. So here it is, 7 months later:

Share: What's your take on the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate?

I got this little thing as a GWP freebie 2 weeks ago. I've heard so many good things about it and it has admirably earned the score of 4.0 from MakeupAlley. I still haven't opened mine as I'm a bit apprehensive about the purported oiliness but I'm curious to know if it worked for you guys.

So let me know in the comments below, okay? Yay or nay?

Soothe & heal rashes with VMV's Red Better Flare Up Balm

If ever you're experiencing annoying rashes due to the 35 degree heat or because you love wearing jeans too much and are experiencing chafing, then I would highly recommend the VMV Red Better Flare Up Balm.

Two weeks ago I started getting these rashes on my posterior because I kept wearing jeans to work and I had to walk a good 20 minutes to get to the office. It was such a no-brainer, wearing pants to work and all, and my legs started to get these pesky rashes that were rather uncomfortable (I kept squirming in my seat :-/) from the denim rubbing against my thighs.

Red Better Flare-Up Balm contains:
- Monolaurin, monocaprin + monocaprylate (coconut fatty-acid-derived anti-microbials): target demodex folluculorum, Helicobacter pyloris and other rosacea-triggering microbes.
- Several anti-inflammatories: potassium azeloyl diglycinate (a gentler azelaic acid derivative which also reduces cathelicidins), monolaurin + antioxidants.- Sulfur: proven treatment for rosacea-related papules and pustules.
All in a rich, deeply hydrating + soothing balm.
Also ideal for irritations, inflammations, redness, bites, itching, rashes + microbial infections from allergic/irritant reactions; seborrheic dermatitis, rosacea, eczema, atopic/contact dermatitis + some other medically-managed conditions.
Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate, Neopetyl Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Laurate, Steareth-2, Steareth-21, Butylene Glycol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Citric Acid, Sodium Phytate.
Price: Php 1,890

My summer picks: What are yours?

Is it really how nowadays or what?! I'm the type of person whose t-zone perspires all the time due to the heat or change in temperature. So every so often I have to tweak my makeup routine to match the weather and end up "rediscovering" my old favorites.

So here's a short list of products that I've been using as of late. Feel free to add your own in the comments section.

1.  Clinique Derma White Bright-C Liquid Makeup with SPF 38 PA+++

I still had a bit of this left which I purchased on Feb of 2011 (see how economical I am, haha). The texture is very watery and easier to spread (compared to Skin Savvy's which is thicker and more cream-like), plus it gives a brighter but translucent natural finish. It has SPF bragging rights, too! To all the oily-skinned girls reading this, I would really recommend this as the formula is not heavy plus it nixes sweat and oil.
