Holika Holika Oil Queen Cotton Pact SPF 30 PA++

I'm so happy that I am finally done with shopping -- I had to do some last minute shopping this afternoon for some friends and nephews. Now, I am particularly excited to hand everyone their gifts (it's the best part!) and watching their reactions as they tear open the Christmas wrapper. I love giving gifts! It's the Santa in me, I guess, as I grew up believing there was actually a Santa Claus!

Anyway, I have been using the Holika Holika Oil Queen Cotton Pact for months already and I'll try to write a proper review now. With the Christmas happenings (plus Epsilon coming into our lives), I've just been so busy and out of it lately.

A cute compact that battles sebum and keeps skin fresh and pure all day. Safe for sensitive skin, it does not contain mineral oil, parabens, talc, vaseline, and ethanol. With added SPF30, PA++ for sun protection.
Price: Php 425
The Oil Queen Cotton Pact piques Pixie's curiosity
Ever since I started using my mineral makeup foundation, I've been obsessed with using a kabuki brush with everything! Why use a brush to apply makeup? Well, the product is more evenly distributed and it (for powder foundation) gives a nice airbrushed finish, too.

Initially, I found the Holika Holika Oil Queen Cotton Pact too white when I applied it using the puff provided. Donna gave me a great tip and told me to apply it via patting motion on my t-zone, and this worked in lessening the "whiteness". But I eventually discovered that it works best with a kabuki brush.

Just lightly swirl the brush on the powder, tap off excess, and then lightly buff on face. Applied this way, I love how the powder is evenly distributed and my pores are [temporarily] blurred. Take note, this is a translucent powder and won't cover imperfections on its own -- you would still need a foundation for those.

Pour conclure, the Holika Holika Oil Queen Cotton Pact SPF 30 PA++ is great as a setting and touch-up powder. Oil control is so-so (maybe 2 hours max on me), it has a light pleasant scent, and does not irritate sensitive skin.

It seems that Holika Holika is starting to become one of my favorite makeup brands. It's affordable, skin-friendly, and the packaging is tres cute! Just moments ago, I used up my Wonder Drawing 24H Auto Eyebrow and I's so glad I purchased a back up! (Note to self: buy more!) It's my favorite eyebrow product alongside the Shu Uemura Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil.

Have you tried the Oil Queen Cotton Pact?
What's your favorite Holika Holika product?

  1. Haay, I want to try Holika Holika products too. Lalo na yung Aqua Petit BB Cream. Kaso ang layo kasi nung current branch nila. Hope they would open a branch in Mega or Glorietta(ish. Kahit Greenbelt :) ) soon

  2. Haha oh I know what you mean about wanting to use the kabuki with everything! That's why I ended up buying backups upon backups. When The Body Shop went on sale with their kabukis, I couldn't resist. :D

  3. I think they will open a new branch soon :) In the meantime, you can order through their Facebook page or at Glamourbox.ph :)

  4. Mine's from Ellana naman, their baby kabuki brush from 4 years ago pa yata, is perfect for travel cos it's so small :)

  5. I haven't use any holika holika products yet.. no branches near me :( but anyway, puff on compacts rarely works for me haha so good thing you discovered the wonders of kabuki brush :)
