My Ultimate Diamond Facial experience (plus a giveaway!)

Getting a facial is one of my guilty pleasures. When I'm stressed out, I usually turn to facials, doze off for a bit and wake up refreshed and energized. I've been extremely busy the last 2 months with work and school, and my regular facial treatments have somehow taken a back seat.

Last Wednesday, I finally got the chance to try out SKIN Dermatlology & Laser Centre at The Spa in Fort. Okay, admittedly this is my first time at The Spa yet I’ve heard (and read) so many good things about it – most especially the ginger tea.

Warm smiles greeted me as soon as I entered SKIN, the refreshing peppermint aroma is also hard to ignore. Aaaah, I feel relaxed already! The offered me their signature ginger tea, and boy it really lived up to the hype!

The first order of the day is a quick consultation with their resident Dermatologist. I was assigned the Ultimate Diamond Facial, the perfect treatment, I must say, as I am in love with power peels and diamond peels. My skin is sensitive and as such it can’t tolerate chemical peels and regular at-home facial scrubs (if done improperly). After a quick tour of the place and some last-minute preparations, I was ushered into my own private room.

SKIN only uses skin care products that are gentle and botanically-infused. My makeup was wiped off using a gentle cleanser, then Fe (my facialist) gently massaged the Chamomile Cleanser in order to remove additional dirt and grime. Fe’s massage was just pure bliss, her pressure was just right. I’ve never had a more relaxing facial massage.

A quick rinse with a wet towellete and then Fe massaged the Honey Almond Polish to my face to gently slough off dead skin cells. The creamy polish was definitely very gentle and non-abrasive, but I do feel the tiny scrubbers doing their job.

An enzyme peel immediately followed this procedure and while waiting for the enzyme peel to set, Fe did quick back and scalp massage. An icy eye mask was also applied, and by this time I was ready to doze off to lala-land.

Did you know that there are several tips for the Diamond Peel Wand? Based on the photo below, the largest one is for the body, middle one is for the entire face and neck, and the smallest one is for the thin skin around the eyes and other sensitive areas.

I’ve been used to the Power Peel that I initially felt that the Diamond Peel was too mild. After a good 20 minutes though, I realized that this gentler way of exfoliating will do my complexion good.

My skin was immediately softer and smoother after the treatment. I have this “powdered” look on my face which means the Diamond Peel Wand effectively exfoliated my skin. And here is evidence:

Pricking ensued after this treatment, and is only done by a Dermatologist. My skin was recovering from a breakout since I used a Kiehl’s product three weeks ago (seriously, it took my skin almost 3 weeks to clear up!) so the Dermatologist only had to remove comedones and small pimples that have localized already.

The final treatment in this 8-step process is the Casmara Mask, a decongestant soothing mask for sensitive skin and is loaded with oats, seaweed, vitamin A, B, E.

The mask dried in only 10 minutes! Amazing! And it’s also reusable within 24 hours so I brought this home with me.

So how do I feel after this very luxurious process? I love it! I definitely felt pampered! The whole process took almost 2 hours, and was well-appreciated since I did not feel rushed.

Voila! Fresh from my facial :)
Two days after my treatment, my skin is smoother and my pores are clearer. There was hardly any downtime as I even watched a movie in Greenbelt afterwards. Usually after a Power Peel, I’d head straight home as my face would be all read and my pricks would look like spots on my face. With the Ultimate Diamond Facial, my face looked normal sans eyebrows. I would definitely come back and even bring my Mom so she can also experience this wonderful treatment.

Now because I love this treatment so much, one lucky reader will also experience the Ultimate Diamond Facial at SKIN Dermatology & Laser Center. Give your skin the pampering it deserves and join my giveaway below!

  1. Enough sleep and making sure that I'm always hydrated are the two things I keep in mind to make my skin healthy. As per exfoliating, well, my mom taught me this. I use lime and mix it with sugar. Rub it gently your whole face then leave for 2 mins. After that, rinse it with lukewarm water. It really feels light and refreshing. So much for organic huh? Hehehe :))

  6. I always make sure that before I go to sleep I would wash my face. To remove dirt that I got from the whole day. After that, I put night cream so that it refresh my face all-night. And apply lotion to moisturize my skin. I also drink milk morning and at night to help skin rejuvenate. That's my tested facial exfoliating tips. :)

    2. ;)!!! Me three!!!
btw, I was thinking about you the whole weekend kasi nakapulot si little boy (remember him?) ng hermit crab sa kalsada. He kept it and named it Shane, but we didn't know what to feed him. First thing I thought was your "crabopolis"! Shucks, di naman ako maka access ng internet. hehehe

    3. Hi, Jaja! Of course I remember your little boy :) Hope the crab is okay, otherwise you can give it to me. Maliit lang ba?

    4. Thanks thanks!!! Hay, buti na lang you have your blog about your crabs, it's a big help. I would give it to you pero, I don't think the little boy would like it, kasi he loves it na. Hehehe. He brings the bowl with the crabby up the room with him whenever he goes to sleep.(wala pa kaming aquarium for Shane because I don't know if it will survive).

The crab's shell is about three inches in diameter. My hubby calls it Crabbing Gala, kasi ang dumi dumi ng shell niya. hehehe.

  15. I thought diamond peel is the safest way to scrub the dead skin cells away. I had myself experienced it for five months but because of its high-cost maintenance, I returned to my old regimen with Apricot Scrub. I am a freak when it comes to skin care. At 30, I don't want to look like as if I am not taking care of myself so I started using anti-aging products at 25. Moisturizer and sunblock are the two things I can't live without.

  16. Keeping my skin in shape by hydrating myself often. Im a coffee drinker and as we all know coffee can dehydrate skin. the more i drink coffee, the more i drink plenty of water. Also, my daily would be the basics: Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize. At 25, I just started applying sunblock for protection and still considering buying anti-aging products :)

Hoping I win. God bless xx

  28. I have a normal skin, and my proven and tested products to keep my skin beautiful is St.Ives, (invigorating) i use st.Ives apricot scrub 3x a week to remove dead skin cells, it really helps soften, brighten, and remove blemishes in my skin. A lot of people has actually noticed a big change in my skin since I started using it. :)

My daily facial cleanser is Cetaphil, since its gentle and non comedogenic, after I cleanse I use Dickinson's Witch Hazel Toner, it refines my pores and removes excess oils and dirts on my skin :)... after toning I use Clinique Intensive Cream to keep mys skin hydrated & nourished, what I love about this cream is that it makes my skin dewy and soft without the greasy feeling...

Occasionally I use St. Ives Mineral Mask 3x a week to tighten my skin and remove unwanted blackheads on my nose area :)

but what I really want to emphasize about my secret to beautiful skin is being stress fee and hydrating it by drinking LOTS and LOTS of water and eating fruits and vegetables... A positive attitude and a happy spirit also helps me distress,it really shows in a woman's glow if she shines in her own way by keeping a positive and happy disposition :)
