PIXI Tinted Brilliance Balm in Baby Bare

Faeries, flowers, and mint? What a delightful combination! This is perhaps just one of the reasons why I fell in love with PIXI. Of course, their lip products are fantastic and I've blogged about my 2 favorite PIXI Brilliance Balms: Magic Tink Tint and Bitten Berry before. Click on the links to read my glowing reviews :)

I recently got a third one called Baby Bare, which is a more natural-looking, MLBB shade.

Packed with lip-loving ingredients, this glossy gel balm protects and hydrates the lips instantly. After the balm wears off, lips are left tinted with a flattering, personalized hue that suits you. It’s so adorable; it reminds you of a crayon. No need for sharpening though! Just secure the lid after use. Pucker up!

Holika Holika Oil Queen Cotton Pact SPF 30 PA++

I'm so happy that I am finally done with shopping -- I had to do some last minute shopping this afternoon for some friends and nephews. Now, I am particularly excited to hand everyone their gifts (it's the best part!) and watching their reactions as they tear open the Christmas wrapper. I love giving gifts! It's the Santa in me, I guess, as I grew up believing there was actually a Santa Claus!

Anyway, I have been using the Holika Holika Oil Queen Cotton Pact for months already and I'll try to write a proper review now. With the Christmas happenings (plus Epsilon coming into our lives), I've just been so busy and out of it lately.

A cute compact that battles sebum and keeps skin fresh and pure all day. Safe for sensitive skin, it does not contain mineral oil, parabens, talc, vaseline, and ethanol. With added SPF30, PA++ for sun protection.

Unboxing: Secret Santa Glamourbox

Happy Holidays, dear readers! I just got home from Bloggers United 6 and I'm terribly exhausted. The moment I got into the car, I fell asleep and woke up somewhere in Manila. Man, all these late nights are really getting to me. Furthermore, I'm still a little stressed over my upcoming Korea trip mainly because I will be shelling out a lot of money for the trip and I'm thinking about the work that I will leave behind.

Anyway, here's my unveiling of the Secret Santa Glamourbox, our last box for the year. Have you been naughty or nice? I think I am still the sense that I am still masungit and hot-tempered. :(

Contest: What's your Hurraw Lip Balm personality?

Last June, I professed my love for the Hurraw Mint Lip Balm. Finally, I've found a minty lip balm that's hydrating, organic, vegan, and not overly greasy. I love it to bits and I'm now on my second tube. I would recommend this to anyone who's on the lookout for a vegan product and doesn't like all those nasty petrolatum and chemical ingredients in most commercial lip balms.

Take your pick: Root Beer, Licorice, or Coffee?
Since Christmas is only just 20 days away (oh my gosh, can you believe it?!), I am so thrilled to announce that Cutieverse and I will be raffling off three of their most awesome flavors to my lucky readers. As you all know, Cutieverse has over 20 flavors of the Hurraw Lip Balm but we handpicked the top three variants that we think would suit my readers best. We're picking three winners by the way and each will win either the Coffee, Licorice, or Root Beer Lip Balms.

Excited yet? Here are the mechanics:

Terms & Conditions:
*Deadline of the contest is December 16.
*Contest is open to residents of the Philippines only.
*Winners will be contacted via email and prizes will be shipped via courier.

Pretty easy, huh? We're so excited to read your answers so crack your knuckles and start typing away! Good luck, everyone :)

My Detox Detox Treatment at Ki by Neo Day Spa

For my second treatment at Ki by Neo Day Spa, I chose the new Detox Detox Treatment which was so new, it wasn't even listed on the service menu! I was told that it involves a seaweed wrap + body scrub + lymphatic drainage massage. It's good for releasing toxins from the body and is recommended for people on the go, those who need cleansing, and for those who always eat out. Hmmm....I think that just about describes me. Although I do resist from eating out too often and am trying to include more greens in my diet, I also get sugar cravings (not to mention Yabu cravings) when I'm stressed. So yeah, I need a detox alright!

Sharon was assigned to me again, she was the masseuse from my first visit.

Side note: I'm loving long skirts now, because it's so comfy and so easy to wear. I got this black skirt from Helga at our previous fashion swap at The Appraisery. :)

Win passes to Bloggers United 6: Winners Announced!

Woohoo! I'm so excited for another round of Bloggers United. Last time, Alex and I had a blast meeting our readers and selling some of our new and pre-loved shoes and clothes. This December, we'll be at the huge World Trade Center where we'll be selling lots of accessories, clothes, and of course, fab shoes from Alex (she's a stylist and has lots of trendy stuff!).

“The thing that makes Blogger Bazaars special is the experience it gives to our shoppers. This is why we invited Bloggers United back for the 13th installment of World Bazaar Festival,” said JR Ang, marketing director of leading events organizer Worldbex Services International.

Poreless Perfection with Ellana Minerals

When I heard that Ellana Minerals was re-launching, I couldn't contain my excitement! You can ask every beauty blogger, they'd tell you that Ellana was their first mineral makeup brand. Back in 2006, mineral makeup was all the rage as it was deemed safer and more compatible with sensitive skin. Ellana was proudly a local brand, and I've been to their showroom in West Avenue several times just to swatch and restock on my mineral powders.

If you're new to mineral makeup, you should know that Ellana Minerals is made of high cosmetic grade pigments, it's paraben-free, oil-free, does not contain unnecessary fillers, binders, and fragrance, and free from unhealthy nano particles.

Last week's blogger launch was held at Rastro in Burgos Circle where we were given a peek at the new reformulated line with packaging illustrated by top Pinay illustrator, Soleil. *Kira faints*

I always found loose powders somewhat cumbersome to bring around, so I mostly left my Ellana powder at home and touched up mid-day with another product. Good thing the awesome folks at Ellana decided to repackage some of our favorites and encased them in compacts! Woohoo!

Sneak Peek: INGLOT opens in the Philippines

Polish cosmetics brand, INGLOT, has finally invaded our Philippine shores! An intimate press and blogger event was held today at their flagship store in Glorietta 5 where we were able to swatch to our heart's desire!

the Freedom Bar
Established over 30 years ago by Wojtek Inglot, INGLOT is now famous for offering high quality cosmetics at very reasonable prices. The brand prides itself in using only the best possible ingredients from only the most reputable suppliers from Japan, USA, France, Germany, UK and Italy.

We were all given a palette which we have to fill with eye shadows, concealers, lip shades, and/or blushes of our choice. This is INGLOT's unique "Freedom System" which allows customers to experiment with countless shades and combinations and create their unique and personalized palette. Quite intuitive as your palette will only contain the shades that you love, and none of the shades that you don’t.

Kate Moss Fragrance Giveaway Winner

Apologies for the delay in the announcement of the winner. A lot of things happened since the contest launched, but I'm done reading all the entries and we finally picked a winner.

Aviva Domasian
I would name it Aviva because I want it to be me, to be unique, to be uncommon. I would definitely incorporate vanilla into the fragrance because I looooove vanilla fragrances. I would also include some musk in order to temper the sweetness of vanilla, so that it would also appeal to a more mature market.
Congratulations, Aviva! Please email me your full name, mailing address, and mobile number to hello[at] :)

Remembering Pnut: May 23, 2003 - October 23, 2013

At a recent event, a good blog friend Ae of An Artechoke, had heard about Pnut and offered her condolences. As a pet owner herself, she was also very sad about his passing. She told me the sad reality is that no matter how much we take good care of our pets, we will always outlive them. That thought has haunted me since because it is true. I've had so many pets before (including a hamster named Caramel who I've even travelled with in a airplane, who after 2 years in my care died in my hands and I spent a good 2 hours in the bathroom crying incessantly) and I've always been very attentive to their needs but still they stay for only a few years and then move one. I still end up heartbroken.

My Colorwash Experience

Okay, first things first. I don't own any designer bags, haha. I just don't invest in them, but my sister does! And she swears by Colorwash Serendra branch.

A few months ago, she let me "borrow" her Coach Patchwork Quilted bag which I found to be the cutest. I used it everyday for work (que horror) until it became too dirty. The suede parts rubbed against my skin and some of the hairs on the leopard print fabric were starting to come off. By late October, it was time to bring it to Colorwash.

After a quick consultation and inspection of the bag, I checked it in for cleaning and [slight] repairs. I was advised to come back in a week. I was so excited...but was so busy at the same time so I asked my sister to pick it up instead.

Oooh, it's like unwrapping a present! Let's check out the before and after:

Komiki's New Lease on Life

For 3 weeks I've been deeply considering switching to the vet that my friend has been recommending ever since she learned about Pnut's passing. Part of me is just too lazy to switch to a new vet altogether, yet another part of me is constantly nagging telling me to get a move on. So last Saturday, I woke up early (something that I try to not do on weekends because, hey, it's the weekend!), got ready, prepared Komiki and headed to Dogs N Us.

I spoke with Dra. Olive Inocencio who was apparently expecting me since my friend, Ijin, had previously told her about Pnut's condition. I explained that that reason I wanted to switch was that I needed a vet that was close by in case there would be any emergencies.

I told Dra. Olive about Pnut's sickness, the symptoms he showed years prior, and how I wasn't able to reach him that afternoon he passed away. I was advised that that moment I saw him contort, I should've brought him in for a full check up as he might have had a liver disease early on. She said that Pnut's sickness could have progressed slowly, over the years, resulting to an increase in blood toxicity, distention of the kidney which led to the bloating, etc. It was painful for me to think that Pnut has been suffering all these years, and I cried (my heart is still heavy with guilt and regret) because I was really so sad that I had no idea and was unable to help him. When Pnut turned 5, I was so focused on preventing rheuma or patella luxation that I wasn't aware of the risks of kidney and liver diseases because I thought he was such a healthy Chihuahua and was well taken care of.

She explained everything in medical terms (I love it when people explain everything to me, ignorance is not bliss!) which helped me accept the fact that Pnut's passing was probably for the best. At least, he's not suffering anymore. Dra. Olive also told me, "That's the irony of life, [we take care of our pets but they won't live forever]. I won't promise heaven and earth for your dogs, but I promise to prolong their life as best we can." And that was enough for me.

So happy after her first pro grooming!
I had the staff administer a general check up on Komiki via blood chemical profile and a complete blood count. I brought her booklet so they can analyze her previous shots, and Komiki also had her first professional grooming. I am so proud of her because she wasn't fussy at all (at home she'd bark, bite, and even try to escape), the staff was so nice and Komiki appreciated that, so she was calm the whole time.

New product alert: b.liv by Cellnique

A few months ago, I was given this instriguing skin care kit from b.liv by Cellnique. It's a brand that's popular in Malaysia (if I'm not mistaken) and I was fortunate to have met their Marketing Executive during his visit to Manila

I've been told that b.liv is a brand that is marketed towards teens and adults with troubled complexions, who battle acne, comedones, large pores, and scars/spots from previous breakouts. The name "b.liv" is a contraction on the word "believe", and is also a union of the words “be” and “live” aiming at forming a lifestyle motto that encourages b.livers to “live the moment".

I was given a full set based on my current skin condition: sensitive skin that's blackhead-prone, with minimal fine lines, and slightly dark circles around the eyes. I did emphasize that my skin is [hyper]sensitive and is prone to flare-ups and they assured me that b.liv is suitable for sensitive skin. They also offer a 30-day money-guarantee.

I got the following in my kit:

The kit was impressively placed in a reusable tin container. If there was one thing that I was initially drawn to, it's the cute packaging and labels! Once my skin normalizes, I'd love to test these. Which would you like me to test first? :)

Holiday Lips: PIXI Tinted Brilliance Balm in Bitten Berry

Working for Glamourbox, I've discovered a lot of fun and interesting beauty products over the last 7 months. My relationship with some products are fleeting, while some have taken up permanent residence in my vanity kit. While admittedly I am not a huge makeup person, lip products and bases/foundations are my Waterloo.

I've gushed about the PIXI Beauty Tinted Brilliance Balm in Bitten Berry on my social media accounts but never really got around to reviewing it. So here goes!

Packed with lip-loving ingredients, this glossy gel balm protects & hydrates lips instantly. After the balm wears off, lips are left tinted with a flattering, personalized hue just for you (colour & intensity depends on pH level of lips). Twist-up crayon requires no sharpening. Secure lid after use.

My Aromatherapy Swedish Massage at Ki by Neo Day Spa

Is it just me or is November just really a crazy, crazy month? I can't wait to go on a vacation, you know? I really need to clear my head and relax a bit. For the time being, a good massage every weekend has sort of become my guilty pleasure. I really have these tight knots on my right shoulder (it's been there for years) and thanks to constant walking and commuting, my calves are sore and are in dire need of a good massaging, too.

I recently received an invite to try some services over at Ki by Neo Day Spa and I immediately jumped at the opportunity. This was to be my first visit since I rarely find myself in the Greenhills area.

The spa will be a challenge to spot for first-timers, Alex and I missed the signage and ended up going around Wilson street several times. Here's a tip: Once you turn towards Wilson, keep your eyes peeled for the huge Ki by Neo Day Spa banner on the right side, it's the first block after the corner and the building is where Dita Sandico Ong's showroom is. Does that make sense? Let me know if my directions are accurate!

The scrubbiest: Soap & Glory Pulp Friction

A few months back I won Julia's awesome UK Spring Giveaway -- what a great surprise because, well, I rarely win anything online. I got a lot of really awesome stuff delivered by Julia herself, products that I am so excited to use myself!

Side note: When Pnut passed away, Julia offered a coffee date to cheer me up. At that time, I was so distraught I didn't want to talk to anyone about Pnut's demise. Julia's adorable 10-year old Jack Russel Terrier, Jack, passed away last May (a few days after Pnut's 10th birthday) so if there was anyone who knew and felt my pain, it was her. Thanks, Julia! Let's have that coffee date soon!

One of the products that stood out the most was the Soap & Glory Pulp Friction, a foamy fruity body scrub chock-full of fig powder, pumice, orange waterjuice, lemonade tree liquid and vitamin balls of A, C, E. I've always been interested in Soap & Glory but never got around to actually purchasing one in Sephora. I really love their packaging and their humor, Soap & Glory is such a fun brand!

Get fresher, smoother and softer skin with fig powder, pumice, peppermint oil, lemonade tree liquid, orange waterjuice™ and vitaminballs™ (A,C,E). Scented with our new Fruitigo™ fragrance.

Water-based Sunscreen: Enavose Invisible Sunbrella UV Mist SPF 45

It's been a week since Pnut passed, and although I feel better now (though not 100% back to normal) there are still some days I wake up and cry uncontrollably. I think of Pnut everyday, and I wonder what he's up to in doggie heaven. I also planted a bunch of margarita flowers on top of his grave and I greet Pnut everytime I leave the house. I'd like to think that he's always watching over me.

I also take comfort in the fact that Komiki gives me joy everyday, plus most my friends are pet owners as well and empathize with me. In some cases, my friends even love their pets more than humans, which I think totally makes sense. So that's how I feel right now. I cherish all the years I spent with Pnut. I love him very much and you will definitely still read snippets about him in this blog for the next few months.

Anyway, I wanted to also talk about this wonderful product that I discovered through my meet up with Vivi last June. I use sunscreen everyday, mostly by using VMV Skin Savvy SPF 60, but I'm also on the look out for other sunscreen products that are skin-friendly and non-greasy (very important!).

Vivi gave me two Enavose products: the Invisible Sunbrella UV Mist SPF 45 and City Defence UV Base SPF 50. Enavose is a Swiss brand that believes in incorporating pure botanicals (such as natural herbs, spices, vegetables, fruits, natural spring water, glacial water and Dead Sea minerals) in their products in order to maintain youthfulness and improve skin's overall health. They do not claim to be 100% organic or 100% natural, but they do employ a lot of [active] natural ingredients in their products.

This advanced invisible sunscreen offers broad-spectrum UVA and UVB SPF 45 protection in a convenient micro-vapourised mist that applies evenly and dries instantly on skin. Its innovative formula includes a new tetrapeptide born from preventive cosmetics that protect skin cells from UVA-induced damage and support skin’s repair system. Ideal for face and body, this versatile spray can be used over makeup. Feel empowered to replenish your sun protection whenever, wherever.
Active Ingredients: DNA Tetrapeptides, Organic Green Tea, Lecithin.

Poll: Do you use pure Vitamin C in your skin care regimen?

In effort to kick-start my anti-aging regimen, I recently adopted the use of Ciracle Vitamin Souce C-20 which contains the active ingredient L-ascorbic acid, an active and high quality Vitamin C derivative. Vitamin C is said to help in the regeneration of cells, lightens spots, brightens overall skintone, and also firms up skin. I have been using this on and off for a few weeks. I noticed some dryness in my cheek area, but I'll test this further before I post a review.

Do you use pure vitamin C in your skin care regimen? Which products/brands do you use? Did you notice any changes to your skin's overall health?

Please share your experiences with me in the comments! :)

Happy Halloween from Komiki!

Last Friday, I found Komiki sitting upright in the sala where Pnut's cage used to be. She looked as if she was waiting for something. When I greeted her, she looked at me intently and then continued waiting. I told her, "Baby, Pnut's gone na. Come sleep na lang with Mommy." Then I carried her to my room. Aww...Komiki misses Pnut. All she does now is follow me (and my sister) everywhere, sleep, and keep to herself. She doesn't even play with the puppies. It's heartbreaking how dogs miss their own friends, too. :(

Pnut and Komiki made a great team, they were always together and had a different dyamic -- sort of like a "you and me against the world" thing. Both of them did not get along with the other dogs in the house and preferred just hanging out together. Pnut and Komiki are both my own dogs and live in a separate part of the house.

Anyway, I'm keeping up with tradition and still dressing my pets for Halloween. I'm not attending any dog parties though, I'll save it for next year. It's sad that I already bought Pnut's costume a few days before he passed away.

Can you guess who Komiki is dressing up as this year?

"Where is Pnut? I'm not too thrilled about these costumes..."

Letting Go

As you all know, I've been worried about Pnut for the past 3 weeks. He just turned 10 this year, which is quite a feat actually, but that also means he'd be more prone to sickness and joint problems.

A few days after my birthday, Pnut started getting sick. Initially with fever, then his temperature dropped. He was confined and later diagnosed with liver disease. I knew from experience that liver disease is fatal, but I was hoping against hope that Pnut will get well and go back to his normal, energetic self.

I was so happy he was discharged from the clinic shortly after my birthday,
it was the best post-birthday gift EVER!
The last 3 days (October 21-23) days were critical: Pnut still had an appetite but the fluids were bloating his belly. According to the vet, his creatinine and SGPT levels are high and they have to lower significantly for his kidney to function well. Additionally, the bloating was also affecting and pressing unto the other organs. Pnut never complained nor cried out in pain, he would still greet me every morning and evening, running around even when his burgeoning tummy proved to be too heavy. He would lie down every once in a while and rest.

Mustela's Rebirth: The newly reformulated Mustela Bebe line

Though initially thought of as brand focused on baby care, I've recently discovered that Mustela is also great for sensitive and intolerant skin. Thanks to their sampling via Glamourbox, I was able to try the Physiobebe as a skin cleanser and makeup remover. Almost instantly, I became a huge fan.

With the reformulation of their Bebe range and Sun Protection products, there is much to celebrate! Both now contains Avocado Perseose, an unprecedented new active ingredient discovered by the Mustela researchers at Expanscience Laboratories which acts as a shield against external stresses, thus protecting the skin's cellular reserve.

AVOCADO PERSEOSE - the new active ingredient of MustelaBebe and Mustela Sun Protection products. To make baby’s skin less vulnerable while protecting this unsuspected wealth of stem cells, the Mustela scientific team at Expanscience Laboratories found that this active ingredient is capable of both supporting the development of the barrier function and, even more importantly, protecting the reserve of cells against day-to-day stresses. Safely preserved, this cellular resource can continue to play its role of restoring and maintaining the overall balance in the skin throughout life.

Musings: Of dinners with friends and turning 32

I turned 32 last week. And every birthday I always have this joke about being an old, frumpy dinosaur:

I love this photo from Hongkong Disneyland last year, because really now, who doesn't love Rex from Toy Story? Plus I can re-use this several times until I actually become a dinosaur *wink*

In lieu of a big dinner or birthday celebration this year, I decided to have pocket dinners with friends several weeks before my actual birthday. I was on a budget, saving up for Korea and all, so having dinners with a max of 5 friends at a time actually made a lot of sense. Plus, I thought it was a great way to nourish and cultivate friendships, plus catch up with people whom I haven't seen in months.

I started 2 weeks before my birthday, some were lucky enough (*ehem*) to have one-on-one dinners with me (parang interview lang, haha). I'm still not done though, if only work wasn't eating up my time, I'd have dinners with friends everyday :D

So it started with Tony and Paola. As you all know, Tony has been my closest guy friend since time immemorial. He's my shrink, my financial adviser, almost a best friend actually. He's awesome and he's seen me through two boyfriends and even crying fits, we've been friends for a decade! It's embarrassing how he knows me so well!

Kate Moss Fragrance Giveaway! - CLOSED

Good news, folks! Pnut is back and is recuperating at home. He did lose some weight but he's in better condition now. I'll write a more detailed post on this soon. To kickstart my blogging routine again (I have so much backlog and am still hungover from yesterday's wedding celebration), let's have another giveaway!

Kate Moss for Rag & Bone
Kate Moss has always been one of the style icons I've been following ever since her Calvin Klein days. Since being the poster child for size 0 (waifish) fashion, she has popularized the "boho-chic" look, has designed collections for Topshop, graced the covers of numerous glossies, released her own fragrance, and now she joins Vogue UK as fashion editor.

Thanks to Glamourbox, I am giving away a full-sized (50ml) bottle of Kate's first fragrance release aptly named, Kate.

I miss Pnut :(

After my birthday week, things started to get a little crazy. Work was overwhelmingly piling up, my cousin is getting married the week after and I was hard-pressed at finding a dress and complementing shoes, I haven't watched a movie since God knows when, I haven't read a book either in the past 2 weeks, and to top everything, Pnut got sick.

Pnut, my dedicated Chi of 10 yrs, was confined last Friday. He was previously sick with fever, then after 2 days of drinking Calpol, his fever subsided but his temperature dropped. He eventually stopped eating. We had our vet check him out at home and she said a confinement was necessary. I also asked the vet to administer a blood test to rule out heartworm. Thankfully, the results were negative but it seems like Pnut has a liver infection. He's now in Bulacan (my vet's clinic) recuperating and on antibiotics and IV.

I miss him dearly. This is the first time Pnut has been hospitalized, let alone been sick in 10 yrs. He's a tough cookie, so it was really a surprise to everyone that he got sick. Pnut always ate on cue, drank a lot of water, took monthly baths without fail and did no. 1 and no. 2 outside. He also works out a lot, too, and regularly runs around the garden chasing Komiki (the shih tzu) or just runs around to survey the area. He is the ideal chihuahua, if I may say so myself. Very obedient and independent.

So apologies to my dear readers, I don't feel like writing or reviewing products until Pnut comes home which is likely in the next week or so. I miss my little man, and I hope he gets well soon. If you love dogs as much as I do, please say a little prayer for Pnut tonight.

Love's first bloom: Creed Fleurs de Gardenia

The House of Creed is a Paris-based perfume house established in 1760 and is one of the oldest family owned businesses in the world. A little research and I discovered that Creed has commissioned fragrances for royalty, celebrities, even political leaders and legendary businessmen. For example, Spring Flower was made as a signature scent for Audrey Hepburn, Prince Rainier of Monaco commissioned Fleurissimo (a classic floral bouquet) for Princess Grace Kelly on their wedding day, while Tabarome was favored by Sir Winston Churchill and President John F. Kennedy wore Creed's Vetiver (source). Some of  these commissioned fragrances are still sold today.

The latest offering from this prestigious perfume house is Fleurs de Gardenia, which was created by sixth-generation master perfumer, Olivier Creed, alongside his son, Erwin Creed.

Sixth-generation master perfumer Olivier CREED looks beyond our times to revive innocence and the first bloom of love with new Fleurs de Gardenia fragrance for women. In the French country workshop where his son, Erwin, works alongside him, Mr. CREED blends First Love gardenias, which grow only in pairs, to rewrite romance the way we first felt it: a pure, gentle, dreamlike reality of fluttering hearts and soaring spirits. Double Blush roses, lavender peonies and other gems chosen by the young generation of the House of CREED become the master perfumer’s portrait of how love was…and can be again.
Top notes: galbanum, blackcurrant buds and pink pepper
Heart notes: gardenia, oriental peony, rose and lily of the valley
Base notes: cedar and patchouli
Encased in the signature hand-blown Creed decanter, Fleurs de Gardenia features a blushing light purple bottle that is distinctly feminine and romantic. There have been many interpretations of gardenia as a perfume (it's a scent that's pretty difficult to render), but the most fragrant and refined, I would have to say, is Creed's version. It's soft, beautiful, never heady. I spritzed this on my arm and immediately got hints of peony, patchouli, lily of the valley, even musk, but all are perfectly well-balanced. It's the perfect fragrance for those special moments with your significant other. I would't mind receiving this on Valentine's day :)

Review: CYNOS Argan Oil THairapy

I've had my hair digipermed several times over the course of 3 years, and people comment that my hair is still very healthy. Needless to say, I take hair care very seriously. I am the type who doesn't scrimp on conditioner (I apply a whole LOT every time) and even apply pure argan oil to my hair to set them.

A few months ago, I was sent a set of the new CYNOS Argan Thairapy comprised of a shampoo, conditioner, curl cream and a full-sized bottle of the Moroccan Argan Oil.

For the uninitiated, argan oil is considered as liquid gold. It's a prized ingredient that contains chock-full of essential fatty acids, anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals that promote healthy skin, hair, and nails. If you want to simplify or boost the efficacy of your current products, you can spike it with argan oil. Or you can even use it as is as a facial moisturizer, hair de-frizzer, or skin nourisher.

Sneak Peek: UNICEF Auction for Action 2013

In celebration of National Children's Month, UNICEF Philippines presents this year's Auction for Action showcasing 90 artists in art, design, furniture and jewelry, all to benefit the Supervised Neighborhood Play Program (SNP).

Headed by Philippine UNICEF Special Advocate for Children Daphne Osena-Paez, the Supervised Neighborhood Play Program is a simple, low-cost and easy to organize home-based learning program where trained parent volunteers or day care workers gather young children in a house, a shaded play area or under a tree for two to three hours, every day for at least ten months to help children learn through organized play. UNICEF supports the SNP program in remote, conflict or disaster-affected communities and in informal settlements located in urban and rural areas.

“I have personally seen how play makes learning more fun and engaging through my own children and the children I’ve met during my trips with UNICEF. Play makes children happy and children who feel secure and loved usually do better in school, are more self-confident, have good self-esteem and are able to cope more easily with life’s challenges,” said Daphne Oseña Paez.

“Children learn best through play so making learning fun encourages a child’s eagerness to learn. Children who have access to early learning are more prepared for regular school and are less likely to drop out,” said Tomoo Hozumi, UNICEF Country Representative.

We were invited to a the media preview early this week, and here's some of the amazing pieces that will up for auction on October 21-27 at
