Heavy, tired legs? Try the Yves Rocher SOS Heavy Legs Lotion

I am most insecure about my legs because (eep) I always experience that heavy feeling plus I have veins and stuff which I got from my Mom's side of the family. Alex calls my veiny feet, ugat ng mayaman (have no idea what that means) but I'd rather have no obvious veins like most models. My legs are also muscled from ballet classes and biking, and I'd rather have straight legs *wishful thinking*.

Anyway, when I was invited to the Yves Rocher store launch I spotted their new lotion, the SOS Heavy Legs. Hmm...it seemed to be speaking to me so I picked it up and trooped to the cash register.

To relieve heavy-feeling legs, Yves Rocher Botanical Beauty Research chose lesser celandine and horse chestnut from organically grown ingredients, renowned for stimulating micro-circulation.

Brows by Shu Uemura: What a Difference the Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil Makes!

Okay I admit, I've neglected my brows on account of being too busy. So a day before my Browhaus appointment, I set out to find the bestest eyebrow product out there. And lookie here, I nonchalantly landed in Shu Uemura, Trinoma.

Initially I was thinking of getting a lipstick (but then again I have too many already!), then I saw a familiar product that several people have raved about - the Hard Formula Brow Pencil (Php 1,400). And so I asked one of the SAs, Ms. Risa, to test it on me (but I was already half-sold on Liz's review on it, honestly!)

Great finds at Jockey, Centris Mall!

Growing up, I thought that Jockey was primarily a men's brand. It was only recently at their press launch that I realized that Jockey also carries shapewear, outerwear, and women's brassiers, tank tops, bikinis, and other intimate wear.

I visited their quaint boutique in Centris Mall quite hoping to take home the usual stuff -- seamless underwear, brassiers and oh, maybe a camisole or two.

For more than 130 years, Jockey® has led the apparel industry by producing garments that connect with our spirit of adventure. Our legacy, based on ingenuity, vitality and authenticity, celebrates progressive and independent thinking. As a world-class brand, Jockey continues to inspire a renewed sense of individuality and freedom in modern men and women across the world.
When I entered I was greeted by sale items which were on 50% off! Girls, bring your boyfriends when you shop for I am sure you'll both discover quality finds here.

Review: Human Nature Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation in Honey

The last time I purchased makeup from Human Nature, I complained that their so-called "foundation" was actually more of a pressed powder because of how sheer the coverage was. When they released their "medium to full" mineral foundation, I was skeptical at first, but decided to bite the bullet anyway. After all, it was so affordable at only Php 475.

Think the new Human Nature Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation is for you? Read on to find out.

Finally, a perfect foundation that’s so comfortable to wear, you won’t even notice it’s there!
Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation is formulated with multi-functional rice powder, bamboo powder, and Vitamin E to give medium to high coverage and help seamlessly cover imperfections! It leaves you only with a velvety soft matte finish, perfect complexion, flawless-looking, shine-free face... and not the harmful chemical ingredients found in regular foundations! Just the perfect match for your skin you’ve been waiting for!

I got my hakaw fix!

For almost 2 weeks, I've been craving for hakaw! And I'm picky about it, too! I ordered some at Mann Hann on a whim but didn't like it -- it was too maharina for me, so I just ate a couple. What a waste! The best and one of the cheapest I've tried so far is at Yang Chow Dimsum & Teahouse in Centris, Quezon City (near the Quezon Ave. MRT station).

So even if I am currently nursing a tummy ache which rendered me powerless for one day (I skipped work today because it kept rumbling and I had to go several times to the....oh wait, TMI!), here I am posting about what I ate over the weekend.

Pray for me that my tummy ache subsides soon, because I really hate having to lie down in bed all day. Boo.

Bad Hair Days Begone with Solana

My hair is so long, and I've been meaning to get a perm but...you know, I've been busy and all. And sorta lazy to spend 4 hours in a salon, ha!

So what's the best way to keep my hair out of my face whilst keeping up with the trendy set? Well, with head wraps of course! Check out my new find, Solana Head Wraps by dear friend Romina Tobias.
Just like how the sun illuminates the sky, sand, and sea, Solana brightens up your everyday ensembles by turning clothes into fashionable keepsakes that inspire you to sail to a tropical paradise, to cruise through a hip urban town for a nocturnal escapade, or to simply transform everyday activities into fab, fashion moments. Let Solana put the luxurious glow to your wardrobe and make you feel like the Solana goddess you really are.
Bask in Solana style.
According to Romina, "We encourage ladies to play dress up, to have fun and to travel the world in style. Our head wraps are named after different world locations/cultural events such as Cancun, African Safari, Northern Lights, Malibu Beach, Monaco, and Downtown LA."

Launched in May 2012, Solana's first collection consists of summer dresses, cover ups and party dresses. Some are locally and internationally sourced while most items are original designs.

"We are now putting the spotlight on our head wrap collection. Also referred to as turbans, these are must-have accessories that add pops of color to any wardrobe, whether one is having a bad hair day or not. Head wraps are right on trend and has been 'Spotted on the Marc Jacobs S/S 12 runway and seen on the likes of Rihanna, Nicole Richie, and Lana Del Rey.'"

All Salana head wraps are originals as Romina handpicks the fabrics herself, so you can be sure that you won't bump into anyone else with the same accessory. She adds, "On lazy rainy days, a head wrap will instantly freshen up any 'do!"

Which Solana is your favorite? :)

On the Road to Clear Skin

A few weeks ago I had posted that my skin has not been looking too good as the result of trying out several skin care products, ingestives and makeup (for blog purposes). My skin reacted pretty badly and I am now headstrong at getting my clear (and healthy!) skin back.

So I've trimmed down my products list and only concentrate on using products that I've used before, or those with gentle formulations.

FOR MORNING

1. Mosbeau Placenta White All-in-One Facial Soap (Php 400)A foaming facial soap that gently exfoliates my skin (with citric acid) and lightens (with algae extract and horse placental protein) skin at the same time. I have to thank Paul for sending me the Mosbeau kit because honestly, I can't live without it! It does not give me pinkish skin as most peeling products do, rather it just cleanses gently and effectively. How do I know my skin is peeling without actually peeling? Well, my lips have also become smoother and doesn't chap anymore, it's a breeze to apply lipstick now.

2. Jane Iredale Dream Tint SPF 15 (Php 1,890) I use this on days when I want more oil control. It's rather drying and if I use this daily I get some sort of a rash on my forehead due to lack of moisture (told ya my skin's sensitive). I use this as a base for powder foundation when I know I'm headed out for events or on a date (tee-hee).

3. Leyende Place in the Sun (Php 400) - This moisturizer protects with SPF 30, however it can be a bit rich for combi-oily skin but I put up with it since it does not give me pimples or any allergic reactions. It also contains eco-cert ingredients and keeps my skin's moisture levels up during long hours in an air-conditioned office.

Photo Story: Chicken Charlie!

Owkay. A lot of our friends said we should try Chicken Charlie and we haven't, honestly. And to think that there's a branch conveniently located along Banawe Street. Wow so near yet so far. So finally last weekend we decided to check it out and we brought my Mom and finicky sister with us.

OOTD: An Ocean of Flats

I love flats. Period. I can walk in them all day, I can shop till I drop, and I can most definitely commute in them. I would choose to wear flats everyday if I could.

Shirt: Zara | Skirt: Jewels | Bag: Divisoria | Flats: Ichigo Kids

For those who aren't convinced, there are a whole lot of trendy and tres cute flats out there -- you just have to know where to look. Take for example, these teeny Tiny Angie flats from Ichigo which everyone loved from the get-go. I have them in peach and blue and they're actually part of Ichigo's shoe collection for kids, thankyouverymuch.

Buffet Dinner at Escolta

I've been working at Outsmark for 6 months. That's quite a feat considering that I would rather work from home than do anything else. However, I do feel extremely lucky to be working with such awesome and nice people.

What exactly do I do? Well, I handle social media and digital marketing for several brands (financial, beauty, lifestyle and food) which you know, is kinda fun and stressful at the same time.

Anyway, as a mid-year treat we had a so-called "outing" to Escolta -- in The Peninsula! Here's a quick photo story for you guys:

OOTD: Featherlight

When I went to the Ever New event last May, I didn't have an OOTD photo because of how hot and humid the store was (they were on soft opening after all). I'm glad that www.iammeg.ph took a photo pala, and so I'm now posting it here on my blog:

Top: Dorothy Perkins | Pants: WAGW | Gold sandals: Aldo |
Mustard bag: SM Dept. Store | Necklace: Bedazzle
For the past weeks I've been in the dumps because my flat tummy ain't flat anymore (I blame the food tastings, my proximity to Ayala Triangle and all these things Gerick makes me eat, haha), but this photo reminded me of how skinny I can be -- sometimes. Believe me, I have some photos where my arms look big and my face looks too round :(

I wonder if any of my readers are insecure about their tummies, too? Girls, which body part are you most insecure of?
