Bargain Shopping in Hong Kong

A month after my Hong Kong trip, I still can't stop thinking about where to go next. Ahh....travelling is such an adventure, everyone should experience it at least once a year. We've got 4 destinations plotted for 2013 and hopefully I can squeeze in a quick trip to Singapore (just because I love it there!) and eat kaya toast.

Anyway, the most memorable thing about Hong Kong for me was shopping for bargains along the famous Nathan Road (where I bought my ankle boots), Jordan Street and in CityGate Outlets. Oops, I am getting ahead of myself. Here are some photos of where we shopped last October:

The Esprit outlet store in Hollywood Plaza along Nathan Road is one of our favorite stops because we always find a lot of basics here. Best to come and sift through the never-ending racks in the morning so you get first dibs on the sizes and you don't have to contend with a lot of people in the fitting rooms.

Honestly, I don't think the items here are that cheap especially if you think about its conversion to PhP (which is why I don't obsess about conversion when travelling, it spoils the fun!)

If you're looking for designer duds and accessories, then head over to CityGate Outlets which is about 30-40 minutes by train (I don't know exactly how long the ride was because I fell asleep!).

CityGate Outlets houses over 80 international brands offering a yearly discount of 30%-70% on clothes, accessories, jewelry, etc.

I wasn't able to take a photo of the Coach store, but you can get your Coach bags for as low as Php 8,000-12,000. Newer styles are, of course, more expensive. This is always our first stop because le sister likes Coach bags.

Kate Spade also has an outlet store here (where we saw lovely iPad cases and accessories) and do stop by the Anteprima store where Julia purchased her pretty and quirky Anteprima bag.

Spend a full day here if you can, there is so much to explore!

And of course, our favorite store is Giordano where we buy our cardigans, jeans, shirts and multi-way shawls.

Another place you should most definitely visit is Bonjour where you can purchase pint-sized (read: sample sizes) of your favorite skin care brands such as Clinique, Estee Lauder, Clarins, etc. They're scattered everywhere along Nathan Road, you won't miss it!

So there, whew. What are your favorite bargain places in Hong Kong? Please share them with me in the comments :)

  1. Mongkok!!! I love the ladies Market :)
When I went there, I got super cute tees and blouses for as low as 10 HKD. But some of course were priced higher than that.

    Love your travel posts!
