It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Christmas is easily my favorite time of the year! I feel so warm and fuzzy inside and am loving all the shining, shimmering displays :)

Rave: Winmax Nail Polish from Saizen

Scored this nail polish at the opening of Saizen in Robinsons Midtown last September. Didn't really think too much of it at first, but since that first swipe I've loved the color so much that am on my second month! I will definitely go back for more, they're only Php 85 each!

I love how the deep blue shade sparkles!

Rave: TIGI Bed Head Urban Antidotes Resurrection

I have what you'd call "sensitized hair", meaning hair that's been battered with chemical treatments for several years. I was scared that after my digiperm I'd end up with super fried and super dry, crunchy locks. I'm glad, though, that the staff at Creations Salon did such an amazing job of protecting my hair.

At home, my game plan was to protect and revive my hair using a heavy duty conditioner, and this is where TIGI Bed Head Urban Antidotes comes in. I received this dynamic duo at the TIGI Bed Head blogger event last month, having been familiar with the brand since my teen years, I was particularly excited to try them out stat.

A day with Ladylike Turnlock

Me, Martha, Liz, Jheng
Last Thursday was prolly one of the busiest days of my entire life! I had 2 events during the day with meetings squished in between, and was attending another intimate, posh fashion show at Prive during the night.

My friends know that it is never in my character to dart from one event to another (as most people aspire to do), as I'd rather devote my time to just one substantial event per day. But Thursday was special: Lourd Ramos (my fave stylist) hosted the Dealuxuries soft launch in the morning, the Leyende "Real Benefits" Campaign was in the afternoon, while Lourd was sashaying down the runway clad in Siya come 9pm. It was a gruelling day, I tell ya, and I wouldn't have made it alive without my Accessorize Ladylike Turnlock Tote.

Review: Yves Rocher Serum Vegetal Wrinkles & Radiance Dazzling Cream

I have to thank Liz of Project Vanity for giving me an eye cream for a birthday gift (she also sent me a pretty lace dress and a NYX lipstick, thank you!) because this was one of the things I packed when I flew out a couple of weeks ago. Most of my eye creams are in pots, which sucks because I don't like getting product on the caps. Yes folks, I am that anal.

Yves Rocher is a French brand that has been around since 1959. They offer a  bevy of products from skin care, makeup, body care, fragrances, hair care as well as bath & shower products, all made with their signature Botanical Beauty.

This special delicate-area treatment, both gentle and highly effective, meticulously treats the eye contour area. It reduces wrinkles, smoothes crow's feet, reduces and decongests undereye bags and instantly brightens the area, thanks to its subtle pearly texture.
Key botanicals: cornflower water, apple oligosides, organic aloe vera gel, horse chestnut extract, coffee extract, mangiferine, organic sesame oil, soy oil.

Review: Human Nature All-Natural Feminine Wash

I've long been a supporter of natural and organic formulations, but when it comes to intimate hygiene, I'm kind of skeptical. For the longest time, my OB-GYN has advised me to use this popular feminine wash brand which became too harsh and too drying after prolonged use. I then decided (after reading other reviews) to check out the Human Nature Feminine Wash and see if it truly lives up to its claim of being gentle and non-irritating.

Feel fresh as a summer breeze! Formulated to match the body's natural pH and enriched with natural ingredients which include aloe leaf extract and chamomile essential oil, known for their anti-bacterial, soothing, calming and aromatic benefits, coconut and sunflower oils, natural cleansing agents, and rice and anise extracts to work as natural preservatives.
Price: Php 159.75/200ml

Gabriel*Martel Tocca Di Lusso Collection Launch

Before I left Manila, I was invited to the Gabriel*Martel Tocca Di Lusso Collection Launch at Prive Luxury Club. Normally I tend to shy away from huge affairs because I prefer intimate, mingle-heavy events, but I was willing to support my friends over at ARC and check out Celine Gabriel's newest bag collection.

The elusive collection is a collaboration between Celine Gabriel and Andrea Martel and consists of intricately designed minaudieres, the latest "it" luxury accessory painstakingly handcrafted with natural materials such as eggshells, ostrich leather, stingray and wood. The whole collection is dubbed "Tocca Di Lusso" which is Italian for "touch of luxury".

Review: Obagi C-Sunguard SPF 30

I received the Obagi C-Sunguard SPF 30 during the launch of the House of Obagi Complete 360 System last August. For somebody who is relatively fair and spends a significant amount of time under the sun, I take sun protection pretty seriously. For my recent trip, I decided to stash this product in my luggage and use it while on vacation. It was a good a time as any to test out this sunscreen product and review it for you guys :)

Travel must-have: Bug Shield Lotion

In hindsight, I'm always glad that I always choose to pack at least one insect repellent lotion every time I go on a trip. There are bugs and other nasty insects that always seem to be attracted to my legs. And sometimes when I'm lazy, I just let them be. But then I wake up with pink/red dots on my legs the next day, and then I'd regret the fact that I neglected to apply insect repellent lotion the day before.

This new Human Nature Bug Shield Lotion was part of my "survival kit" given out during the Human Nature "Read the Label" campaign last month.

Our newest bug lotion acts like an invisible force field that gives you 100% natural protection from mosquitoes and from long-term damage from DEET! This non-sticky, easy-to-apply, pleasantly scented lotion has been especially formulated for everyday use in school or at the office. So you not only get dengue and DEET protection but moisturizing action as well.

One thing's for sure, this lotion is non-greasy and glides smoothly on the skin. No matter how many times I reapply several times during the day, it still remains non-sticky. The Human Nature Bug Shield lotion has a strong citronella smell which wards away most bugs for about 1 hour  before I'd have to reapply otherwise I'd get bitten again. The smell is a bit strong though, so consider yourself warned. The handy-dandy container is so much better than the previous Bug Spray and dispenses the right amount. Look Ma, no more insect bites -- almost!

Price: Php 84.75/50ml

Have you used this product? I would love to hear your thoughts :)

My Grandma's 85th Birthday

Just so you know what I've been up to, here are some photos of my Grandma's 85th birthday celebration taken yesterday. I'm still technically on vacation and awfully full (I can't remember how many helpings of food I had), so my posts are kinda sporadic.

Happy birthday Mama! We love you :)

Rave: My Fave MAC Lipsticks

These days, I don't feel like blogging (or writing) at all. This usually happens when I'm in a rut or about to fly off somewhere else and my mind can't concentrate on just one single thing. Plus, P-nut, Komiki and the other dogs are sick with colds and cough, which is something they prolly got from me. Oh well.

These are my fave MAC lipsticks of the moment, I love them so that I only placed both of them in my kikay kit. I used to have 4 lipsticks at any given time (because I change my mind often throughout the day) but now it's down to 2 lipsticks and 1 lip balm.

MAC Lustering (left) is a sheer, glossy hot pink, definitely my kind of lipstick. It's easy to swipe on whenever, wherever and looks oh-so natural and fresh.

MAC Plumful (right) is really a very pretty and deep plum shade, perfect for the -ber months. For a Lustre, it sure offers good color payoff. Can't get enough of this lipstick, the plum shade is deep enough to look like I mean business. Coincidentally, I have an extra one for sale.
