Budget sun protection: Body Recipe Sunblock Cream SPF 20

One of the items I readily picked up at the recent HBC Great 88 Sale was the Body Recipe Sunblock with SPF 20, I've been meaning to try it and the sale was a great reason to finally get several. Honestly, I wasn't really expecting much since it was just Php 80, but read my review below to know why this little tub is a keeper.

First off, the tub has an inner lid to make sure that the cream contents doesn't spill over or get into the grooves. God, don't you really hate it when the product oozes out and hardens on the grooves? It looks so messy! So plus points to HBC for providing a snug-fitting inner lid.

Mosbeau All-In-One Facial Cream

I won't be a hypocrite and say that I shun away from brightening products, but I am particular about the key ingredients and the texture. I tend to stay away from heavy creams and lotions that make me perspire or aggravate my already combi-oily skin, or those that contain too many chemicals. Ever since I could remember, products in gel formulations were my saving grace -- they were light and relatively fuss-free to apply.

When PMP Communications offered to send me a Mosbeau set for review, I dove right in. I've got some blemishes I'd like to lighten, plus an overall face brightening wouldn't hurt either. So here's my review on the Mosbeau All-In-One Facial Cream after a month of use (current skin care regimen here).

Put an end to your tedious beauty regimens, All-in-One is all you need to get the combined effects of a facial lotion, beauty essence, moisturizer and sun block for that flawless facial experience. This gel type cream is easily absorbed by the skin, it is non-sticky and effective for all skin types and also a great make up base.

Minimalist Skin Care

When you see me at events or at the mall, I am usually bare faced with just sunscreen, a touch of foundation and lipstick. See, I am not the one who dons full-on makeup each and everyday. Though am interested to master the art of applying natural makeup, I still believe in the importance of having healthy, good skin before anything else.

Or maybe I'm just lazy, haha. Anyway, my last Dermatologist check up was November 2010 and I haven't had any pricking done for the last 10 months. It's quite an achievement, really, as I used to be very anal about pimples, blemishes and spots. So much so that I'd be at the clinic twice month, just because. It's awesome now that I can sort of live without relying on my Dermatologist too much. If she stopped practicing, what would happen to me? Where would I go? I go crazy thinking about stuff like this.

Here's my current skin care regimen where the star is my Softening Lotion, something that my Dermatologist prescribed and I've been using for the past 10 years.

L'Egere White Multi BB Cream

I do apologize for the obvious lack of posts. I am honestly too pooped to do anything else nowadays! When I get home at night I just plop down right into bed and drift off to dreamland. Most of my event buddies would call me a hermit now because they haven't seen me in a while. Oh well, I shall be back on track soon enough.

Anyway, one of the products that I've been using is the L'Egere White Multi BB Cream which, according to some light research online, is one of the more popular BB cream brands. I am still a noob in the world of BB creams, I tend to steer away from them because of my extra sensitive skin. But that's not to say I don't get curious, I believe there are still gems out there waiting to be discovered that are perfect for intolerant or sensitive skin.

So did this product make the cut? Find out below.

Swensen's is the Ultimate Sundae Experience

Today, September 15, Swensen's officially opens its doors in Manila! For over 63 years, Swensen's of San Francisco has captured the hearts and taste buds of all ice cream aficionados with its whole line of premium, all natural ice cream. If you're someone who likes to indulge in delicious desserts (and who doesn't?!) but has dietary concerns such as fat and cholesterol, then Swensen's array of natural, fat-free, low-sugar and ridiculously affordable ice creams and sundaes will be perfect for you.

We are truly grateful that we were one of the few fans invited to the Swensen's "Scoop Off", a private affair wherein we could all enjoy our favorite ice cream desserts -- and we were even asked to even go on seconds, and thirds! Being on hospital duty for the past 2 weeks (boyfriend is currently confined), this trip to the much-awaited Swensen's was a total relief and re-energizer!

It's no secret that our family LOVES Swensen's and we try to visit as much as possible whenever we travel to BKK. For their first Manila branch, Swensen's Philippines imported everything (except the floor tiles) in order to keep the ambiance authentic.

Angry Birds Toppers by Mrs. P

A few weeks ago my inaanak requested for a specific birthday cake featuring her fave iPad game, the venerable Angry Birds. Dumbfounded and on a budget, I searched online for bakers who made cakes and cupcakes. It was quite timely (and lucky, I might add!) that I chanced upon Mrs. P's website which coincidentally sells handmade Angry Birds toppers.

Although I was excited as hell to receive the toppers (I am a sucker for Angry Birds as well), I had to wait for a few days before I could get my grubby hands on them.

The whole set is only Php 450 and consists of 8 birds, 3 pigs, 3 logs and 1 slingshot. I was told that the approximate sizes of the characters were a little larger than a 1 peso coin. They were neatly arranged in a box and placed in their own little compartments.

Why Polaroids are L-O-V-E

The New Love Minerals Mineral Powder

I posted my review of Human Nature's Mineral Foundation (Php 425) in Orient Pearl two months ago, and I distinctly remember saying that it should be labelled as a face powder since the coverage is very sheer. Well, when I purchased my second compact I was delighted that their "foundation" is now aptly called "mineral powder".

Celeteque DermoScience+ Matte Moisturizer with SPF 30

You've probably spotted the new Celeteque Dermoscience+ at the stores already. The one product that caught my eye, quite predictably, is the SPF 30 which is a step up from their previous SPF 15 moisturizer. Curious about this sunscreen, too? Here's a quick rundown of its good and not-so good points:

The Kebab Factory

My sister and I found ourselves in Forever 21 today, scouring clothes for casual Friday and Saturday office outfits. With her full-time job, my sister rarely sets foot in malls during the weekends because she just zones out and makes up for lost sleep. Wish I could say the same for myself -- my weekdays and weekends are basically the same.

Anyhow, my sister was super nice enough to treat me to a late lunch (she rarely does that!) with the restaurant of my choosing. I first chose Persia Grill but they ran out of beef kebabs. Seriously, how can that happen?!

Anyway, my next choice was The Kebab Factory with its budget-friendly meals and relatively fast service.

The Kebab Factory in Megamall is very cushy and we were lucky that it wasn't teeming with people at 3 PM on a Sunday. Since we were in a hurry, we ordered a Chelo Kebab each with rice. The price? Only Php 180 per meal sans the drinks :)
